ARMY, you read that right! BTS is set to make an appearance at the Grammy Awards this Sunday in Los Angeles. According to Variety, the group will be presenting an award during the program.
Their upcoming appearance signifies just how popular the group has become around the world. BTS’s two most recent albums, Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer, have debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, with the former being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package, the first nomination for a K-pop group.
Their nomination came months after the group visited the Grammy Museum, where they talked about their music process. The members revealed they intend to make music that can appeal to all audiences, with many of their lyrics talking about “pain” and “problems” that youth go through.
BTS has been breaking barriers ever since they won their first Billboard Music Award in 2017. Since then, they have become the first K-pop group to perform at the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards. Their upcoming appearance at the Grammy Awards will make them the first K-pop act to appear and present on the show.
The Grammys have been on BTS’ radar for a while. Back in May of 2018, an interviewer asked the group what their next step would be in music and BTS’ Suga replied with “Grammy.” The guys laughed and RM said, “Grammys like a whole another world,” but look at where they are now!
BTS has mentioned the Grammy Awards so much that a fan has compiled all the times they talked about it. Take a look below.
We couldn’t be more thrilled for their appearance!
