Bullying is pretty prevalent around the world and no matter how hard people try to combat it, it still seems to linger around every corner.
Artist Halsey has unfortunately deactivated her Twitter account due to random negative critics regarding her image, artistry, health, and personality. Like every other celebrity, she is cast to the spotlight but more profoundly put under a magnifying lens where she is more prone to receive all types of criticism from people around the world.
The real question that seems to be on almost everyone’s mind is why do people continue to send trivial hate to other people? Are you really getting anything out of it?
Halsey has been plagued with cyber-bullying even through her other social media outlet(s), such as Tumblr, which she also deleted awhile back.
It all just doesn’t make sense. At the end of the day (as mighty cliche as it sounds) we are all humans, and we ALL possess feelings that can be hurt. We don’t all have “thick skin”, and even so, what does having “thick skin” got to do with bullying others?
It doesn’t. The answer is that no matter who you are, no matter how strong emotionally or physically you are, words can hurt. This isn’t about so and so being “weak” or being “extra”, this is about SIMPLY respecting others.
And if this simple act of respect cannot come to life, then how can the world proceed with slowly but surely minimizing unwanted hate?
Some people have always wished for world peace, but how can we have world peace, when we can’t have world respect for one another?
