Gifted electronic music producer Burko introduces his brand-new two-track EP, Can’t Stay Here, via There Is A Light Records.
Speaking about the title track, Burko shares, “I was sent the vocals to ‘Can’t Stay Here’ and immediately heard the song I would end up producing; I took the song that the vocalist had written and took things in a completely different direction.”
Burko burst onto the SoCal house music scene with the release of his debut EP, Put Me In A Trance, followed by Infrared, and now cements his compelling sound on Can’t Stay Here. Earlier this year, Burko released his Infrared EP, a four-track work of art highlighting his inimitable medieval house sound. Infrared received vast applause from elite outlets and appeared on Spotify’s Friday Cratediggers and Operator playlists.
Distinguished by dark, heavy beats, Burko’s medieval house sound creates a hypnotic atmosphere on the dancefloor.
Burko’s music has been picked up and played by many established DJs, including Kyle Watson, Steve Darko, Wongo, Londonbridge, and SNBRN. In 2021, Burko headlined the iconic Spin Nightclub, Bang Bang, and played the Grand Artique Stage at Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland Festival. Other festival performances include Love Machine Festival (Maceoplex, DJ Tennis, WhoMadeWho), Why Not Fest (Bob Moses, Justin Martin, LP Giobbi), and Beach House (Diplo, TroyBoi, Croatia Squad).
Burko is currently working on collaborations with Autograf and SNBRN.
The EP begins with the title track, opening on a deliciously throbbing rhythm topped by a dreamy, sensual female voice, imbuing the lyrics with alluring hues. Percolating colors and rattling, vibrating synths give the harmonics dazzling washes of energy.
“Reflection” rolls out on low-slung, thumping percussion as emerging colors elevate into creamy waves of textures. Resonant, sighing tones infuse the tune with shimmering washes, followed by oscillating synth layers, expanding into radiant rollers of surging intensity.
With Can’t Stay Here, Burko demonstrates the electrifying evolution of his heady, captivating sound, at once irresistible and contagious.
