With the highly anticipated release of his 7th studio album “I Told Them…”, global superstar Burna Boy invites listeners to immerse themselves in the stories, rhythms, and melodies of his life, via an easy-going collection of sonically diverse songs, that encapsulate the essence of his musical journey so far.
Blending elements of 90’s hip-hip with Afro pop, rap and R&B, the record finds the Nigerian musician in a seemingly calm, meditative state of self-reflection, tackling lyrical themes of of triumph, grinding and resilience converge, across 15 brooding tracks that serve to demonstrate his growth both as an artist, and human being.
Featuring the singles “Sittin’ on Top of the World”, “Talibans II”, “Big 7” and “Cheat On Me” featuring English rapper Dave, the record also includes guest appearances from fellow music megastars GZA, RZA, 21 Savage, Seyi Vibez, J. Cole and Byron Messia.

With the album’s title serving as a “powerful statement of Burna’s self-assurance and the validation of his ascension to the top”, and introspective undertones of the singers rhymes, it’s clear “I Told Them…” is an project intended to cut through the cultural zeitgeist to showcase a more personal side to the rappers character.
To emphasise this point further, the 32-year-old and his team this week launch a specially curated magazine intended to be something of a collector’s item, and keepsake for fans. Featuring never-before-seen content including a conversation between Burna Boy and RZA (of the Wu-Tang Clan fame), articles written by his grandfather (former manager of the legendary Fela Kuti), photos from throughout the making of the album, and more, the mag is available to purchase exclusively at select pop-up events, and online from Burna Boy’s official website.
This past June, Burna Boy became the first ever African artist to headline the 80,000-capacity London Stadium!
Arriving onstage to the addictive sound of 2018’s “Gbona”, the GRAMMY Award-winning star went onto perform a rip-roaring, two-hour set, bouncing around a make-shift fairground set with unrelenting energy, and swagger, much to the delight of the sold out crowd.
Throughout the course of the evening, the “Last Last” singer was joined on stage by a variety of special guests including Stormzy, Dave, J Hus, and Jamaican vocalist Popcaan.
