Dropping the electric and relatable new single, “They Don’t Understand Me”, is rising artist Calliope Wren featuring Corbin Bronson. Making a statement from the get-go with this incredible track, both artists manage to completely shine and give a voice to many who feel like they don’t have one. This follows-up Calliope Wren’s previous single “we’re not really strangers” and Corbin Bronson’s single “I’m Just Curious”.

Calliope Wren is a rising singer-songwriter from Long Island, New York who is a lover of all types of music genres and likes to experiment with cross-genre tracks. She has over a decade of musical theater, performance and stage experience and has performed on many stages across New York and outside the state. She has opened for the likes of O-Town, Ryan Cabrera, and AJ McLean. On top of all this, she is also an events organiser, being very prominent along the east coast, promoting and hosting her own showcases featuring herself and up-and-coming acts. Add that to her advocacy for mental health and the LGBTQ+ community, and Calliope Wren really is the rising star we need to watch.

“They Don’t Understand Me” was written by Calliope Wren, Corbin Bronson, and Producer Public. It is a gorgeous, uplifting pop song that delves deep into feeling the need to fit in when really we don’t and that is totally okay. While the lyrics are highly relatable, it’s Calliope Wren’s powerful vocals that truly dives home the message of the track, with unfaltering honesty heard through the notes she hits and the amazing vocal runs; but, the song doesn’t just stop at Calliope Wren, Corbin Bronson switches it up, showcasing that men also sometimes feel that same need to want to fit in, and that it’s totally okay not to. His deep, sensual vocals touch us within and his authenticity whilst singing the track doesn’t go amiss as LGBTQ+ men tend to feel like they’re not understood. And, when we feel this song just can’t get any better, Calliope Wren and Corbin Bronson harmonise after the latter’s verse, and gosh do their voices absolutely compliment each other perfectly, really making sure every listener of the song feels like they’re not alone, that everything will be okay, and that we all will make it. We’re sure that we’ve got a friend in both these singer-songwriters with their track, “They Don’t Understand Me” really proving just that.
