Can Music Find a New Home in Gaming?

Musicians and record companies are always finding ways to revive interest in their music. A great example of this is the news that Steps are releasing three albums on vinyl. Pop bands like Steps aren’t commonly associated with old-school vinyl records, but the group (and their record label) have decided that it’s time to re-release their first three albums in 2024. The decision off the back of Steps going on tour in 2023 and releasing a 25th-anniversary platinum collection. Whether you’re a Steps fan or not, there’s a certain amount of creativity that can’t be ignored.

    Musicians Like Creativity

This level of creativity is what keeps a musician, pop group or band relevant long after their time in the spotlight has passed. With this in mind, let’s get creative ourselves and look at some of the ways musicians can prolong the life of their songs. The traditional route in recent decades has been TV adverts. Putting a song to an advert that gains traction on TV can give it a new lease of life. However, with TV a fading medium, it pays to look at what the internet has to offer in terms of options. One novel way to get your music heard by the masses is gaming. Specifically, casino gaming.

Plenty of online slot games feature popular songs, such as Paradise City by Guns N’ Roses. Live casino games could also be a good vehicle for songs. For example, the Paddy Power Live Roulette lobby features games with a variety of themes, including science (Quantum) and showbiz (American). Going deeper into the live gaming mix, Evolution has released a fashion-themed series of games. If that can happen, then music-themed live games can happen. Not only could they happen, they could be extremely entertaining.

Music Can Make Live Games More Entertaining

Live games are built on the premise of interaction and entertainment. What could be more entertaining than a flashy studio, a casino game and some great tunes? In fact, the addition of popular songs could actually make live casino games even more enjoyable. Imagine the scene: you log into a live roulette game, the dealer calls for your bet and, suddenly, a medley of Steps hits starts playing. That makes the game more exciting which, in turn, improves your overall experience. The results don’t matter as much, which is how you should always approach casino gaming. You should play for fun and, if you happen to win, it’s a nice bonus.

Then, if you have fun, you’re more likely to think fondly about Steps. The end result is a win for everyone. Music has made your time online better, and Steps (or whatever musicians you hear) have got their songs back in people’s ears. The power of music is in its associations. When you associate songs with a positive event, you’re more likely to enjoy those songs. Casino gaming can be highly enjoyable when done correctly, which makes it a great medium for musicians to explore if they want to revive interest in their music. Steps have shown that musicians will try something different when they want to get some exposure, so they could certainly find a new home in gaming.
