The Kit Kat Club is ready to Wilkommen some new faces! Model Cara Delevingne is set to join the West End cast of Cabaret as Sally Bowles.
She will be starring alongside Olivier award-winning actor Luke Treadaway (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) as the Emcee for 12 weeks from March 11. The pair will be taking over from current cast members Rebecca Lucy Taylor (aka Self Esteem) and Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, who have been in the show since September 2023. They will also be joined by Michael Ahomka-Lindsay (Newsies), who takes over the role of Clifford Bradshaw.
Speaking about her thrilling new venture, Cara, who has previously starred in Paper Towns and Suicide Squad, said: “There are no words to explain the excitement I have to return home to make my stage debut in such an iconic role. I cannot wait to be a part of this brilliant cast and production.”
Luke added, “I can’t wait to become a member of the Kit Kat Club and join this extraordinary production. It’s a huge thrill to be asked to take this on and I’m very excited to get started.”
Since its debut at The Playhouse Theatre in 2021, the roles of Emcee and Sally Bowles have been highly sought after. Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley originated the roles in the revival, whilst the likes of Callum Scott Howells, John McCrea, Amy Lennox, Aimee Lou Wood and Maude Apatow have all taken on the iconic roles.
Set in 1929/1930 Berlin with the Nazis in the ascendancy, Cabaret centres around the hedonistic nightlife at the Kit Kat Club as well as writer Clifford Bradshaw’s relations with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles. The London revival of Cabaret won a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards in 2022 and is currently set to be playing until February 2025.
