The cast and director line-up for the forthcoming YouTube Red series Liza On Demand has been confirmed.
Liza Koshy stars in the new project and also acts as the series co-creator and executive producer. She is best known for being a YouTube superstar, with two successful channels under her belt which have garnered more than 18 million subscribers and over 1.5 billion views between them. She will be joined by Kimiko Glenn (Nerve, Orange Is The New Black) and Travis Coles (By The Book, Superstore).
Liza On Demand is set to premiere later this year and according to Deadline, “will follow the chaotic misadventures that ensue as the eponymous character takes on various gigs, tasks and odd jobs in her quest to climb the ranks and become an ‘elite tasker’.”
The comedy series will be made up of eight half-hour episodes and is produced by Above Average. This will be Liza’s second project with Above Average and YouTube, following her successful YouTube Red holiday special Jingle Ballin’ in 2016.
The series directors have also been confirmed. Todd Biermann (Alone Together), Anna Mastro (Shameless) and Heath Cullens (You’re The Worst) will direct the project. They will be joined by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (Josie and the Pussycats), who will also serve as writers and executive producers.
Courtney Carter is also an executive producer for the series, alongside Koshy, Kaplan and Elfont, whilst Sam Childs serves as producer.
