Liane V is a lady of many talents. Known for being a social media superstar, and an incredible singer, she is also a rising fashion icon.
2017 saw Liane become one of the first digital space creators to release a capsule collection with legacy brand G by GUESS. After meeting with GUESS CEO Paul Marciano, she was given creative control over her 10-piece collection, made up of gorgeously glamorous outfits which are perfect for the holiday season.
Working with GUESS is one of Liane’s many projects, having also recently collaborated with the likes of T-Mobile, BMW, iHeart Radio and Target. The multi-talented artist has also been working on new music, which we cannot wait to hear.
We recently had the opportunity to quiz Liane about her stunning G by Guess capsule collection, in addition to what 2018 has in store for her.
Congratulations on your new capsule collection with G by GUESS! How did the collaboration come about?
I was working with G By GUESS for about 5 months and soon after I met Paul Marciano (CEO of GUESS) in Italy for a GUESS fashion show. The team reached out to me shortly and said that they were interested in launching my very own capsule collection! Paul Marciano and the G by GUESS team gave me the creative freedom to design a holiday collection, and we launched it Nov 1st!
How would you define the collection?
If I could define my collection in 3 words it would be classy, sexy, and comfortable!
You were given creative control over the collection – how did you pick and choose what to include within the capsule?
I wanted the collection to reflect my style and personality. I just thought about what styles I would personally love to wear over the holidays. We then created mood boards, looked at different materials, and picked out the colors.
What’s your favourite piece from the collection?
I’m in love with every piece but I would have to say I love wearing the silver jumpsuit! It’s comfortable, fun, and definitely a statement piece!
You’re one of the first creators in the digital space to release a collection with the brand. How does it feel to be at the forefront of this movement?
It’s honestly unreal to me. When I saw my big picture in the window at the store for the first time I wanted to cry. I’m just so grateful and honored to work with an amazing brand like G by GUESS. I’m excited to see everyone enjoying my collection!
Over the years you’ve worked with some incredible brands. Who would you next like to team up with?
I love fashion, but I also love makeup! I would love to collaborate with Maybelline, MAC, and Cover Girl.
Who are some of your fashion inspirations?
Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Rihanna.
What is your ultimate wardrobe staple?
I would have to say black leggings because you can always dress them up with a sexy heel or dress them down with some cute tennis shoes.
You’ve travelled a lot this year – where’s been your favourite place to visit?
London and Hawaii. I love the way London makes me feel, I always feel like I’m in a movie there. Hawaii is my favorite because I used to go there every year with the family. I have a lot of great memories there and I love the people and weather.
As well as being a social media influencer and rising fashion icon, you’re a singer. Can we expect more music from you soon?
Definitely! I’m working on a music project right now. I’m super excited to share this new project in 2018!
What does 2018 have in store for you?
I have new music, new collaborations with brands, and new videos for 2018! Also, I am continuing to build my audience and posting consistent content on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc. Plus, I’m planning to travel to new places in the world!
