Jason Allan from Liverpool has built up a name for himself as a solo singer-songwriter, impressing many with his incredible voice and vocal abilities that have led to his gaining a legion of loyal and dedicated supporters.
Here at CelebMix, we spoke to Jason about his musical influences, what inspired him to get in to music and what he has in store for the future. Check out the interview below!
What was the main reason for your getting in to music?
Back in the day it was watching ‘The X Factor’ and shows like that. Watching ordinary people become stars and perform in front of thousands of people motivated me to be a performer.
Who are your musical influences?
Mainly pop bands with indie influences, quirky guitar parts and a great beat! Bands like The 1975, Saint Raymond and Echoic.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My family. They inspire me to make them proud.
If you were to collaborate with any artist, who would it be?
The 1975 every day of the week.
Compared to your time of being in a boy band, do you feel you have more input into your style of music now?
Now that I’m solo I have pretty much total control over what I do and the music I sing. The only bad thing is when you have a bad idea, there’s no one to tell you.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Do what makes you happy!
Regarding the ‘Living With Laura’ event, what can be expected?
Expect to see an afternoon of amazing, talented artists including Jamie Miller, as well as some lesser known local acts who will blow you away. We can’t wait to announce another two HUGE acts on top of this which I know the fans are going to love.
Is there anything, in particular, you are most looking forward to during the rest of this year?
There is, but unfortunately, I have to keep it quiet until everything is confirmed but trust me, there’s exciting times ahead.
Do you have a message for your fans/those who support you?
Whether you’re old fans or new, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart. I love you and I hope you know how thankful I am for your support.
