Earlier this year, we introduced you to singer and song-writer Amy Lawton, with the release of her single ‘Don’t Bring Louise,’ a guitar-driven track, which encapsulates the theme of heartfelt unrequited love. The track features her beautiful harmonies, with its country-pop sound.
When speaking about the single, Amy Lawton explained the meaning behind the track:
“‘Don’t Bring Louise’ is a true story, about a real girl that my ex-boyfriend dated. I started writing the song when I heard her name for the first time. I’d never met her, but as soon as I heard her name, I started building a picture of her and the lyrics started to form in my head. It’s about a feeling that gets reignited the first time you hear that the other person has moved on, even if you thought you were over it.”
The lyrics to the track and the music video correlate exceptionally well, with the video capturing Amy walking around London, following the story of two lost lovers, with their paths heartbreakingly missing each other by only a matter of minutes.
“Filming the video was one of the funniest experiences I’ve had so far on a shoot. One of my friends was in the video. We spent most of the day filming in a closed pub and we had a great time! I wanted to stick to the theme of shooting in East London and all my videos now are filmed in the same area where we record the songs. The night-time bit ended up not being very planned, we just went to St Paul’s at night and walked around finding random places to shoot. It was cold, but worth it!”
