HelloWorld! Live took place this weekend at Birmingham’s Genting Arena, which saw some of the internet’s favourite creators bring their content to life on stage. From live music, games, baking, books, beauty and more, there was something for everyone across the weekend.

We had the opportunity to catch up with some of your favourite YouTubers on Saturday to chat all things HelloWorld and beyond. Here’s what Josh Pieters, Jack Maynard and Jake Mitchell had to say about the event and more.

    Josh Pieters

Josh Pieters is a South African YouTuber who is guaranteed to deliver plenty of laughs and the best collaborations. He used to play professional cricket but had to stop after he was taken to hospital with Glandular Fever. Josh later turned to YouTube, and the rest, as they say, is history.

On what he’s most looking forward to

I’m most looking forward to seeing The Vamps perform, we get to go on stage and hang out with them so it’s going to be fun!

On how he found the transition from cricket to YouTube

Quite weird as obviously it’s very different but I still try and do the things I used to do when playing cricket. I still try and keep fit, do as much sport as I can. Obviously it’s a very different thing but it’s very exciting as well as it’s something new. I’ve played cricket from pretty much when I could walk until I was 21 so it is cool to be able to do something new.

    On his dream collaborations

Definitely Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, and Will Ferrell.

    Jack Maynard

Jack Maynard is a man of many talents and on his YouTube you will find plenty of comedy skits, challenges, collaborations and humour. He’s also formed a partnership with his brother Conor called GOAT. The duo share parody songs, with the next one, ‘First Car’, dropping on November 3.

    On his role at HelloWorld

Just entertaining and getting up on stage, having a load of fun with all my friends that are going to be here and just creating a memorable experience for the fans.

    On his craziest fan experience

I had a fan waiting outside my flat for a while, and they pretended, when they knew I was coming down [where I used to live you could see] they saw me coming down and kinda walked back and walked past as if they’d bumped into me but I knew they’d been waiting there. That was a bit weird, a bit scary!

On the forthcoming new GOAT song

The song is called ‘First Car’ and it’s about how when you get your first car, even though normally, let’s be honest nobody gets an amazing first car do they? I certainly didn’t. But it’s all about getting that first car and you think you are the best, with the coolest car in the game. You can be in that car and feel like it’s a Ferrari or whatever. So it’s basically all about how cool you feel in your first car.

    Jake Mitchell

At just 17 years old, Jake Mitchell has already been slaying the YouTube game for several years. Bringing comedy to the table, he often ropes in his family and friends for his videos and we guarantee you’ll be left with a huge grin on your face.

    On HelloWorld

I’m super excited for the event and to see everyone. Obviously it’s a new event so it’s going to be super awesome seeing new faces and new activities. It’s going to be a taste of what it’s going to be like for me, as I’m going on tour in January so obviously it’s like a big production thing just like I’m doing in January so I’m excited.

What fans can expect from his tour

Fans can expect like what my videos are like, but on stage.  I know it’s hard to figure out what it’s going to be like but you can expect skits, pranks, and all that sort of stuff on stage. It’s going to be interactive, fans can get involved and it’s going to be really fun.

    His advice to wannabe YouTubers

Keep at it, work hard, and stay consistent. If it’s a passion, it’s a passion so you’ll love it so just keep at it.
