‘Focus’ and ‘No Angel’ have become fan favourite tracks since Charli XCX started performing the now-released singles live!
In the midst of supporting Taylor Swift on her worldwide Reputation tour alongside Camila Cabello, Charli XCX has surprised fans by performing new music during her set. XCX has only done this to an extent in the past by performing other unreleased tracks at private and intimate gigs, ‘No Angel’ is one of the tracks. The British pop-star has been performing some of these tracks, going as far back as late 2016.
In May 2018, Charli XCX embarked on supporting Taylor Swift for her Reputation Tour, surprising concert attendees by live debuting her first official single release, ‘5 In The Morning’ since her two critically acclaimed mixtapes were released last year, in March and December 2017 respectively. The single was then officially released on May 31st 2018 with an accompanying music video being dropped two days before the release of ‘Focus / No Angel’.

After releasing ‘5 In The Morning’, Charli XCX told fans she would be doing monthly musical releases in anticipation towards her long-awaited third album. It wasn’t long until XCX premiered another track via live shows, this track being ‘Focus’. This lead to fans hoping for an official release of the track.
On June 23rd 2018, information on the track leaked with an official release date of June 29th alongside the track’s artwork and a surprise with fan favourite track, ‘No Angel’ also being released with ‘Focus’ as a double single.
All of this was later confirmed via an Instagram post by ‘Focus’ pop-star teasing the release of the two tracks although she never mentioned anything about the unfortunate leak of the two upcoming singles.
