Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has teamed up with high street food giant Greggs, to launch her very own chocolate bar.
The kind hearted Geordie will be releasing ‘The Chocolate Crunch Bar’ in aid of The Cheryl’s Trust, the charity she has set up with The Princes Trust, which will help disadvantaged vulnerable and unemployed young people living in the North East.
The new charity limited edition chocolate bar will be launched nationwide from September 8th and will be on sale for a limited time of eight weeks.
The chocolate bars will be priced from £1 and Greggs will donate 5p from every sale of the sweet treat.
The ‘I Don’t Care’ hitmaker admitted on Twitter that she had some help from best mate and former Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh, while she was doing the promo photos and taste tests. One fan asked the singer: “did you try one of the choco bars whilst you did the promo for them? They look un resist able” And The X Factor judge replied, ” Yes and @KimberleyJWalsh helped me decide as well”.
Speaking about teaming up with Greggs for her trust, Cheryl said:
“It’s great to have Greggs on board supporting The Trust and helping to give back to the North East, it really is a project that is close to my heart. It was lots of fun developing a special treat with Greggs, it was important for me to have something that I enjoy and I’m sure everyone else will love the Greggs Belgian Chocolate Crunch Bar too!’
Malcolm Copland, Commercial Director for Greggs added: “We’re delighted to be involved with Cheryl’s Trust and helping to support young people – it’s a great cause to be part of. We know our customers often enjoy a coffee and a treat, so we’re hoping the Belgian Chocolate Crunch Bar is the perfect treat to satisfy taste buds, whilst also giving something back.”
