Kindhearted singer Cheryl has donated a massive £500,000 to the Prince’s Trust in a bid to build a state-of-the-art youth centre in the heart of her hometown Newcastle. The huge donation comes out of money raised through her own charity Cheryl’s Trust which was launched back in 2015 in partnership with The Prince’s Trust.

Back in February of this year the 33-year-old mother-of-one announced that the Trust’s centre will be opening this summer, saying:  “I am so happy and excited to tell you all that after a 5 year relationship with @PrincesTrust and a 2 year mission along with Cheryl’s Trust we have finally found a centre in the heart of Newcastle that will be opened this summer! Part of me is still pinching myself!” I wanted to say a personal thank you to each and every one of you that got involved and donated money and items/your time over the years to help me get this off the ground. Thank you thank you thank you! And for your continued love and support, I am eternally grateful. Here’s to changing lives. I love you”.

This massive cash injection will no doubt go a long way in supporting the running and building of the youth centre in the heart of the Newcastle city centre and according to official paperwork, Cheryl will continue to fund-raise through her own charity to support The Prince’s Trust in support of the centre and in the hope of building more across the UK in the future.

Some of the donors to Cheryl’s Trust include Greggs – who gave £100,000 in 2015 from the sale of limited edition Cheryl’s Trust Belgian Chocolate Crunch Bars  – and TP ICAO (formerly ICAP), and Michael Spencer’s stockbroking company also giving £500,000 in 2015. Back In 2016, £100,000 came from SAS Licences Limited thanks to the sale of Cheryl’s StormFlower perfume range.

News of the £500,000 donation comes thirteen months after another £500,000 donation from Cheryl’s Trust to The Prince’s Trust, meaning the target of £1 Million has now been raised.
