Chris Hughes has announced the launch of his own mineral water and we don’t even know where to begin.
The Love Island star took to Instagram to post a video advert for L’Eau De Chris, his mineral water range produced in partnership with Topman.
SO MANY QUESTIONS.
First of all, L’Eau De Chris sounds like a celebrity fragrance, which would make sense for Chris to release. But personalised celebrity mineral water? That’s a new one. We’re also unsure as to why Topman, the British high-street men’s fashion retailer, are producing this product – apart from the fact that the video features Chris wearing nothing but Topman underwear.
But the strangeness doesn’t stop there. What makes this water unique, you might be asking. L’Eau De Chris is apparently “mineral water infused with a Chris Hughes tear” with the video showing Chris crying into a bottle. Topman have also released promotional images for the product which have Chris staring sternly into the camera as his tears fall into the bottle.
Like us, many social media users couldn’t quite decide whether this product is actually real.
Can someone please tell me what's going on with Chris Hughes and Topman?? Is it a pisstake??? Is it real?? I'm so confused

We won’t find out for sure if L’Eau De Chris is real until Tuesday morning when the launch will be streamed live on Topman’s Facebook page. But for now, the mineral water seems pretty legitimate. The product is already listed on Topman’s website, priced at £2, described as “Premium mineral still water infused with a tear sourced from Chris Hughes”. We wonder how many tears were sourced in the making of this product. Poor Chris.
Whether L’Eau De Chris is made in jest or not, it is definitely capitalising upon Chris’ reputation in the Love Island villa for being one of the most emotional contestants. Viewers especially warmed to Chris after he ended up crying over his fake baby, “Cash Hughes”, during one of the show’s challenges.
Chris himself has acknowledged this, saying: “It’s no secret that I shed a few tears on Love Island. Since leaving the show, I have been overwhelmed with the incredible love shown by fans of the show.”
He added: “Launching my own mineral water, infused with my own tears, is a chance for me to give something special back to those who have supported me since returning from the island.”
Well, it’s definitely unique, Chris, we’ll give you that.
Since leaving Love Island, Chris Hughes has been a busy bee. His debut single ‘Little Bit Leave It’ with fellow Islander Kem Cetinay looked set to reach UK No.1, although it eventually charted at No.15, and his TV documentary ‘Straight Outta Love Island’ was a hit with fans.
