Oliver Rousteing has done it again! Balmain’s Spring campaign shoot is FIRE. There’s no doubt that supermodels such as Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, and the Hadid sisters are making history. But let’s take a moment and go back in time to some of the orginials– Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Claudia Schiffer as they represent Rousteing’s talent.
“It’s a dream come true and certainly a new chapter for Balmain. I believe sometimes people get confused and think it’s all about social media, but Balmain has a deep soul. It’s not only about followers” he tells VOGUE. “It’s about dreams and love… and I think with this campaign I’m going to portray exactly that. These three women are what made me love fashion.”
Shot by Steven Klein, Oliver Rousteing couldn’t seem to hold in his excitement while the photoshoot was going on- “I had to smile. I felt like I was dreaming because I knew that it would be iconic and I’d never forget it” he explained to VOGUE. But the Balmain designer was not the only one who permeated happiness that day; the reunion of three best friends was something that was indescribable. Not only did these legends have the time to catch up, but it was also nice reminiscing on a lot of their accomplishments… most of which that were shared together.
What an amazing blast from the past. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing the full Spring collection!
