On June 25th, we had the amazing opportunity to attend Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour in Indianapolis, Indiana.
We have always known Justin is an incredible dancer, but this show was all the validity we needed. He played many of his hit songs and he had the whole crowd hyped up throughout the entire night. Keep reading to find out just how much fun we had.
As soon as we crossed the street, we could see people pouring out of Bankers Life Fieldhouse. We soon found out that these people were waiting in 100 degree whether for hours before the doors even opened! This concert was completely sold out and we could definitely tell as Justin’s merchandise was selling out even before the concert began.
Our seats were not very close to the stage, but we seemed to be surrounded by extremely dedicated Justin Bieber fans. The 13-year-old girl next to us was practically jumping out of her seat in anxiousness. However, we drove 5 hours just for this concert, so lets just say we were about to fall out of our seats as well.
The opening act was led by Post Malone who sang his hit songs “White Iverson” and “Go Flex”. In addition to Post Malone, music by Michael Jackson was played in-between acts to honor that June 25th represented 7 years since the idol’s death.
Justin finally came on stage singing “Mark My Words” at around 9:30pm. He arose from under the stage inside a glass box and he was hitting high notes that seemed impossible. The whole arena was dancing and singing along with Justin as he continued on playing “Where Are Ü Now”, “Get Used To It”, and “The Feeling”.
Justin also sang “I’ll Show You” which is a song that represents how he has been able to “prove the haters wrong”. He stood inside a circular, light-up cage that changed colors on every beat drop. Lights were also utilized during “Boyfriend” and Justin’s dancers wore light-up, futuristic-like outfits.
The atmosphere became a lot more emotional after “Boyfriend”. A red couch was set on stage and Justin sang and played the guitar which made for a much more intimate moment. He sang his songs “Look At The Stars” and a mashup of “Insecurities” and “Home To Mama”. That wasn’t the only emotional song of the night. Let’s just say “Life Is Worth Living” and “Love Yourself” made us tear up a bit.
Justin sang all the songs off his Purpose album. The whole crowd erupted into cheers over the songs “Been You”, “No Sense”, and “As Long As You Love Me”. One of our favorite songs was “Company”. During “Company”, a trampoline was suspended from the ceiling and dancers were doing flips on it left and right. Even Justin jumped on the trampoline despite his recently sprained ankle.
Another one of our favorite songs was “No Pressure”. Why? Well, we rapped the entire Big Sean verse perfectly and we are really proud of ourselves. Simple as that.
The concert continued on and Justin performed an impeccable drum solo which made us wish we had a single musical bone in our body. Before he sang his song “Children”, he told the crowd to scream when he said their age. So, starting at 11, he worked his way up and eventually reached 65 years old. Justin and the whole crowd ended up singing happy birthday to a man who was turning 66 the next day. You’re never to old to be a Justin Bieber fan, eh?
After that, he brought out four young dancers to perform during the last chorus of “Children”. Each child was so young, but they were all so talented. We’d be ecstatic if we were them. Many people don’t really get the chance to tell their friends that they danced on stage with Justin Bieber!
The night was coming to a close as Justin sang “What Do You Mean” and “Baby”. For the record, we aced Ludacris’s verse as well. Just saying.
He then ended the night with an emotional performance of “Purpose”. Before the song even began, he made sure that every person in that arena knew they were special and knew that they had a purpose in life whether they know it or not. As the first notes of the song played, he even asked one lucky fan to tie his shoe for him. Justin even told the girl “not too tight!”, but we bet her hands were trembling with so much excitement that it was hard to loop even one lace.
The encore was definitely the cherry on top of our sundae. Justin came back on stage, shirtless, for an epic performance of his worldwide hit, “Sorry”. Throughout the night, Justin’s vocals were incredible and the passion he puts into every performance is immeasurable. We also have to applaud his dancers. They all have so much talent and we can definitely tell they love what they do.
