Connor Franta Raises Money for GLSEN on His Birthday

Connor Franta celebrated his 24th birthday today, September 12th. As he has done for the past few years, he used his birthday as an opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Instead of fans sending him birthday presents, he asked them to donate to a charity of his choice.

Connor announced that he released two new articles of clothing through his brand, Common Culture. Both of the products, a white t-shirt and a white hat, feature a bright rainbow across the front. 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to a charity called GLSEN, which helps create safer school environments for LGBTQ+ youth.

Connor said that he has a personal connection with the cause that GLSEN supports. One of his biggest fears as a child was what would happen to him if he came out as gay while he was in school. It is very important to him to try to help LGBTQ+ youth face the issues he feared as a child.

In his video, Connor also thanked fans for all the love and sweet messages they’ve shown on Twitter, especially under the hashtag #HappyBirthdayConnor.

Some of Connor’s friends also wished him a happy birthday.

The rainbow hat and t-shirt are both available for one week, starting today. They can be purchased here, where you can also make a donation to GLSEN. You can learn more about GLSEN here.
