CelebMix would like to apologise publicly for the unauthorised usage of copyrighted content from Jason Sheldon.
A photograph of One Direction from the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham, taken on 4 January, 2012 was used without authorisation from the original creator (Jason Sheldon). By us using this content without explicit permission, we infringed copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (“CDPA”).
CelebMix is a celebrity news website run by young people, but this is no excuse. Clearly, not enough effort was made to ensure copyrighted content was not used.
Team members will be trained further to ensure that the celebrity images used are allowed to be used, and a new copyright claim form has been added to our website to allow content to be reportedly quickly and easily.
