The entire galaxy is questioning and concerned as to who exactly is Rey’s (from Star Wars: The Force Awakens) parents. That is, all but Rey herself, Daisy Ridley.
You’ve heard the conspiracy theorists, claiming Rey is the daughter of Luke Skywalker or has some connection to Obi Wan Kenobi or by something short of movie magic is a descendant of Master Yoda. Star Wars fans are nearly certain, Rey has to have famous family. The newest question arose with the debut trailer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
At the MTV Movie Awards this past weekend, Ridley was asked if Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is her mother in the Star Wars films. Her response: “I’m not being funny you guys, but just because she’s white and got brown hair… it doesn’t mean she’s my mom.”
Some fans even suggested the theory that Jyn Erso actually is Rey. Time would show (along with many other reasons) that this theory is in no way pliable.
Daisy continued hinting that Rey’s parents are no one special at all “I think the amazing thing about [Episode VII] is that Finn and Rey don’t come from anywhere, and they find a place. So to me, it’s funny that people think it’s so important, because I don’t really think it is.”.
