With less than a month to go until the launch of their 30th anniversary tour, 90s / 00s R&B supergroup Damage have revealed their show at The O2 Academy Islington in London has officially SOLD OUT!

Scheduled to kick off in Birmingham on Saturday, November 16th 2024, the celebratory jaunt will also see the band (made up of Rahsaan J. Bromfield, Andrez Harriott, Jade Jones and Noel Simpson) visit Liverpool and Leicester as they commemorate three decades since their formation.

Remaining tickets for shows in Birmingham, Liverpool and Leicester are available to purchase here.

Originally formed as teenagers back in the early 90s, Damage first gained popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Famous for the singles ‘Love II Love’, ‘Wonderful Tonight’, ‘Rumours’ and ‘Love Guaranteed’, the band achieved multiple Top 20 hits, released two studio albums, sold over 4 million records worldwide, and made a significant impact on the British R&B and pop music scene.

At a time when the UK music industry was more dominated by pop and Britpop, the band helped pave the way for British R&B groups, their musical contributions helping to popularise the genre, by blending American R&B influences with British pop sensibilities. Their smooth harmonies and soulful melodies stood out, particularly among boy bands who were more pop-focused.

The crossover appeal of their music resonated with diverse audiences, and as a result their tracks became hugely popular not only in the R&B scene but also in mainstream pop, earning them a wide fan base. Songs like ‘Forever’ and ‘Ghetto Romance’ became anthems for fans of romantic ballads and feel-good grooves.

Although they initially disbanded in the early 2000s, Damage’s influence lives on. Their reunion in 2014, as part of The Big Reunion TV show, highlighted their lasting impact and the nostalgia surrounding 90s R&B. The show rekindled interest in their music and underscored their role in shaping British R&B during that era.
