In case you haven’t heard, Dan and Phil recently released a filmed version of their live stage show, The Amazing Tour is not on Fire, as a YouTube Red Original film. At the very end of the show, Dan and Phil perform a musical number called The Internet Is Here, a song they wrote about their lives on the Internet that closely relates to the theme of TATINOF.
Fans loved this song and have been asking for a downloadable version, without the audience noise that’s in the YouTube Red film. Now, Dan and Phil have granted our wishes! The Internet Is Here is available to download now on iTunes and Google Play. To make the deal even better, 100% of the proceeds are going to Stand Up To Cancer, to help fund lifesaving cancer research.
Dan and Phil went the into a proper recording studio, complete with fancy equipment and intimidating producers. Dan ensured us there was no autotune used, so what you hear is their genuine voices!
It was terrifying, and weird, and fun, but we did it!
An official music video for the song was also posted, featuring a mix of clips from the live stage show and from their studio recording session.
Since they were announced as participants in the Stand Up To Cancer campaign a while back, people were wondering just how they would get involved. They hinted it would be something bigger and fun, but no one guessed they would actually release a charity single! It’s a lovely way to give fans something extra special from TATINOF, and raise a good amount of money for cancer research at the same time.
The release of the song has already garnered massive success. It is climbing the charts worldwide, and is currently #2 in the U.K., Ireland, and Australia, #3 in the U.S and #5 in Canada. This means they are beating out huge mainstream artists to claim the top spots in the charts!
Of course, they even created their own hashtag for the event.
