Dani Harmer, who shot to fame in her teenage years as the titular star of CBBC’s Tracy Beaker series, has revealed that she is to become a mother for the first time!
Dani, 26, who was partnered with professional dancer Vincent Simone for the 2012 series of Strictly Come Dancing and managed to end the competition in an impressive fourth place, shared exclusively with Hello! Magazine her excitement about starting a family with her partner Simon Brough.
“I absolutely can’t wait. I’m also really nervous. But I guess I just have to take each day as it comes. I’ve always wanted to be a mum.”
“We’re over the moon. I still wake up every morning and go, ‘I’m pregnant.’ It was amazing seeing the scan. I find the whole thing absolutely fascinating. What an amazing, clever thing to be going on inside my body,”
The happy couple also shared their plans to marry with the magazine, but were adamant that would not rush in to marriage just because of the pregnancy, with Dani’s boyfriend Simon saying telling the magazine“We don’t want to get married just because we’re having a baby. Dani wants the little one to walk up the aisle with us, so we’ll have to wait a fair few years for that.”
Dani, who as well as starring on screen has had stage roles in the likes of The Rocky Horror Show, also gave readers a sneak peak at what kind of mum she hoped to be, and where she was finding her parenting inspiration!
“I want to be a fun mum. My mum was really fun and she was a friend as well as a mum. That’s what I’d like to have with my child. I know I can tell my mum absolutely anything,” she said “I think if you can find the balance between respect and friendship, combining all those things into one, that would be perfect.”
We’re sure she’ll be an amazing mum!
