Danny Jones is the McFly frontman who, although the band have paused making music for the past 6 years, hasn’t stopped creating his own. Last year Danny released the track ‘Is This Still Love’ and after the success and love for that song he’s finally released his second single ‘Muddy Water’.
Muddy Water has been a fan favorite song since Danny performed it last year at his solo musical showcase – a one-off show to let fans see exactly what his upcoming (sadly no news on the release date as of yet) EP will sound like, and many of his admirers have been pleading with the superstar to release the song since the performance last June. Giving his fans exactly what they want, Danny finally unleashed the second single on Friday 7th of June 2019.
Unlike ‘Is This Still Love?’ the latest track ‘Muddy Water’ has more of a rockier and anthemic vibe to it, reminding us of Danny’s own idol’s sound – Bruce Springsteen. With bass drums featured heavily, as well as guitars and bass to accompany – it’s the perfect mix of edgy, soulful and the gritty Jones magic that we’ve all known and loved for so long. The track has gained radio airplay already, with DJ legend Chris Evans at Virgin Radio playing it twice during his Friday show.
The single isn’t the only thing Danny is celebrating right now, Series three of The Voice Kids has also just premiered on ITV, with the Bolton born singer being a mentor and coach to talented kids alongside Will.I.Am, Pixie Lott, and Jessie J. Danny has also been busy with wife Georgia raising one-year-old son Cooper as well as working on a few secretive musical projects too!
You can download Muddy Water from iTunes now, as well as streaming it from Spotify.
