REVIEW: Days Are Done’s New EP ‘Closer’

British folk-country duo Days Are Done are gearing up for the release of their new EP ‘Closer’. The record will be released on August 25th.

The songs on the EP have been written by the pair over the past eighteen months. Here we review ‘Closer’ before its official release next month.

The four-track record features Days Are Done’s sweet lead single ‘Colours’. It’s a really simplistic, beautiful track which showcases both vocals to perfection. The EP contains two versions of the single.

‘Never Let You Go’ is the standout on the EP, It has a toe-tapping beat and a super catchy chorus. It also has a great pop edge, and country undertones. It’s the coolest song on the new record from the rising duo.

‘On My Mind’ is the purest country track on the ‘Closer’ record. It has a gorgeous acoustic guitar lusciously behind Days Are Done’s vocal harmonies. It’s reminiscent of something you would expect to hear on the US TV show Nashville, which is a huge compliment to both song and performer.

‘You’ is wonderful folk influenced song with beautiful lyrics and a good old fashioned country music style story. It’s a simply stunning track which really highlights the vocal and writing talents of Days Are Done.
