Diplo, under his country moniker Thomas Wesley, has released a new collaboration with the Jonas Brothers called ‘Lonely’.
In the run up to the track’s release, fans started to wonder if a collaboration between the two was in the works after Diplo seemingly hacked the Jo Bros’ social media accounts. After numerous posts, the hilarious hack turned out to be promo for the collaboration, which has been teamed up with an equally humorous video.
Directed by Brandon Dermer, the accompanying visual was filmed documentary style over the course of a weekend of touring at the Calgary Stampede, Square Butte Ranch, XS Nightclub in Las Vegas, Electric Lady Studios in NYC and more.
The visual sees Diplo reaching out to Joe to apologise for live-streaming his secret shotgun Vegas wedding to Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner. Pop culture fanatics will remember that prior to their Parisian wedding this summer, Joe and Sophie tied the knot in Vegas back in May following the Billboard Music Awards. Thanks to Diplo posting on his Instagram, we got to find out all about their not so secret nuptials.
The tongue in cheek visual for ‘Lonely’ sees Joe, Nick and Kevin blanking Diplo’s texts and phone calls following the incident. After countless messages, the trio decide to let bygones be bygones and prepare to FaceTime Diplo. However, what happens next is a fate worse than death – a flat battery when the Jonas Brothers are calling you!

‘Lonely’ is the third release from Diplo under the Thomas Wesley moniker, following on from ‘Heartless featuring Morgan Wallen and ‘So Long’ featuring Cam. Diplo will be releasing a country EP which includes these tracks and more later this year.
The track is also the Jonas Brothers’ latest release, following on their Songland release ‘Greenlight’ and their recent album, Happiness Begins.
