You may not have heard of Abi Hudson yet, however, the 17-year-old singer-songwriter has just burst onto the music scene with her debut single and it’s a slice of pure pop brilliance.
‘Fragile Around You’ was premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and is a stunning debut offering from the singer-songwriter. It combines acoustic vibes with a catchy pop beat, as well as Abi’s powerful vocals, reminiscent of Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush. The track was co-written by Abi, and demonstrates maturity and wisdom well beyond her young years.
Of the track, Abi said: “This track was one of my first co-writes and it was such a great process. It’s primarily about the nature of relationships and the feeling of vulnerability that comes with them. Really falling for someone is a scary thing, it’s easy to get hurt and a lot of it is totally out of your hands. Most people have been in this position or something similar, so people will be able to project their own experiences onto the song.”
The teenager, who hails from Bromley, has been grafting hard from a young age in order to hone her craft. She’s already a regular on the live circuit, with performances at Ella Guru (the Pixie Lott curated showcase), Sebright Arms, The Underbelly and Barfly under her belt.
Whilst she has only just premiered her first single, Abi has also finished recording her debut EP with producers who’s credits include no other than the original pop princess, Kylie Minogue! Terry Ronald (Kylie, Girls Aloud, Sophie Ellis-Bextor) and Steve Anderson (Kylie, Britney Spears, Take That) have been creating magic alongside Abi, blending raw, live elements with intelligent glossy pop to create her signature sound.
