Here at CelebMix, we love putting a spotlight on some of our favourite rising stars who we believe that you should be listening to. If you’re a fan of Justin Bieber, Jacob Sartorius, or Road Trip, then you’re going to love Denis Coleman.
The 15-year-old American sensation is now based in the UK and is fast becoming one of the most exciting pop artists on the scene. Having started his musical career at the tender age of five when he first picked up a violin, Denis wrote his very first pop song at the age of 10.
With a passion for music, he studied at the junior department of the Royal College of Music whilst he later went on to win the nationwide Open Mic UK songwriting competition with his song ‘Radio’. Since then, Denis has grown from strength to strength and regularly tours across schools in the UK, sharing his musical experiences and speaking to students about how they can overcome adversity.

Since releasing his debut single ‘You’ last year, Denis has continued to hone his craft by working with a range of top producers including Red Triangle (The Vamps, James Arthur, David Guetta), Joe Hartwell Jones (Usher, Adele, Ellie Goulding), and Raphaella (Rudimental, Gorgon City).
Denis is also a brand ambassador for The Power of Muzik, a mental health and anti-bullying campaign founded by celebrity vocal coach CeCe Sammy. Along with fellow ambassadors Luena and Asher Knight, Denis is currently supporting The Vamps on their huge UK tour. He will also be headlining his own UK tour in July.
To coincide with the tour, just last week Denis released his brand new single ‘Imperfect’. The track is an upbeat, electro-pop offering which sees the young singer-songwriter acknowledge his imperfections yet realising that he is perfect just the way he is. Showcasing his maturity, the song is one we can all resonate with.
Speaking about the track, Denis stated in a press release: “‘Imperfect’ is one of my favourite songs I’ve written, and its meaning really comes through on two levels. Firstly, there’s me, singing to a girl about how I’m perfectly imperfect for her. It’s kind of a promise, a sort of self-promotion and a confession at the same time.
“The other underlying meaning of the song is more universal. In a world full of Photoshop and social media, the pressure to look and be perfect can be overwhelming. This song is just a little reminder that it’s ok to be imperfect, that at the end of the day our flaws make us who we are.”
