As a site, we love new music, and we can’t wait for you to listen to our most recent discovery.
Liv Dawson is a singer-songwriter from London, United Kingdom and is signed to Method Records, a record label owned by the British dance duo, Disclosure. Liv first stepped into the music industry when she independently released her debut single, ‘Tapestry’, gaining Disclosure’s attention, and landing her the record deal with their label. Ever since then, she has gone on to release single after single, her latest being the infectious R&B-pop single that is ‘Hush’.
You can watch an audio clip of the single below:
“Hush” was written by Dawson herself, along with her long term friend and collaborator Jimmy Napes, who also produced it. Napes has worked with the likes of Jessie Ware, Clean Bandit and Sam Smith, most recently co-writing and producing most of the tracks from Sam Smith’s sophomore album, “The Thrill Of It All”.
Due to Jimmy’s busy schedule, Dawson hasn’t managed to work with him recently but they managed to get a day in the studio together and ‘Hush’ was a result of that day. Dawson has described the single as a “great vibe” and leans on her love for R&B, with a mixture of up-beat tempo and catchy vocals on the single. Lyrically, the single is about that moment between two people, coming together, but keeping their romance on the down low.
As for the future, there is yet to be an official video for “Hush”, despite releasing an audio clip back when the single was released. However, we can expect more music in 2018 from Liv as she is working on her debut album, hopefully with a lead single soon to be released if this Instagram post is anything to follow by:
