How did we miss this one? Zara Larsson dropped a brand new track this week, titled “WOW”, and it’s probably one of the best releases of the week. The song has been quite popular, so far, gaining over a million Spotify streams, to date. This release follows up previous single “Don’t Worry Bout Me“, she also released a remix of that track, this week too, by Rudimental.
Zara Larsson has been one of Sweden’s latest international stars of recent years. She’s had chart hits all over the world including “Lush Life“, “Never Forget You” in collaboration with MNEK, “I Would Like”, and “Ruin My Life“. She’s even had hits as a featured star, such as on Clean Bandit’s “Symphony“. She’s been releasing music lately in anticipation of her third studio album, which will be her international sophomore album. She’s already released the singles “Ruin My Life” and “Don’t Worry Bout Me”, and now this new single “WOW” has been released.
According to Spotify, the song has been written by Brittany Amaradio, Joakim Haukaas, Madison Love, Marshmello, and Thomas Eriksen, whilst it was produced by the globally known DJ, Marshmello. It’s a typical Zara Larsson song that is similar to her recent releases. It’s undeniably catchy with Zara Larsson fuelling emotion throughout the very real lyrics that we all can relate to. The lyrics are trippy with some hints of “Lush Life” flowing throughout, this is also in the production of the track, with Marshmello impressing, as ever. This is one of those slow-burner tracks that will either gain traction after a few months or will become a treasured hit by fans, either way, we are obsessed.
