Disney have announced that plans are in motion to adapt The Greatest Showman into a dazzling, full scale, stage musical!
With the film’s award-winning songwriters, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul at the helm, reports suggest that the upcoming production has already been workshopped in the UK, after a host of West End stars were photographed with the duo in a rehearsal room earlier this summer.
In a statement released to the press, Disney said: “The stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman, featuring the Academy Award-nominated songs of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, will announce production timetable, creative team, and cast at a later date.”

Originally released back in the winter of 2017, The Greatest Showman explores the life and fortunes of the circus entertainer PT Barnum – an American showman, politician and businessman remembered for founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Starring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, Zendaya, Keala Settle and Rebecca Ferguson, the movie went on to be a box office smash, making $435 million worldwide.
It’s accompanying soundtrack, featuring the hit songs ‘The Greatest Show’, ‘Never Enough’, ‘This Is Me’, ‘Rewrite the Stars’ and ‘From Now On’, hit No.1 on the UK Album Chart and became only the second LP in 30 years to spend 11 consecutive weeks at the top spot.
In its 20th week atop the chart, it became the longest-running soundtrack at No.1 in 50 years, before coming the UK’s best-selling album of 2018.
