Ahead of Disney’s 2019 live-action remake of ‘The Lion King’ hitting theaters on July 18, 2019, Disney Music has released the original motion picture soundtrack for the movie and it’s safe to say that we are very much impressed!
The soundtrack for the 2019 Walt Disney Pictures film ‘The Lion King’, which is an official remake of the 1994 animated film of the same name, features songs from the original film written by Elton John and Tim Rice as well as the latest track by Beyoncé titled “Spirit” and an end-credit track titled “Never Too Late”, written by John and Rice. Renowned names of the music industry such as Elton John, Beyoncé, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover, Ensemble and Lebo M, etc, have been listed as the performers for the official soundtrack of the Disney movie.
Beyoncé has also produced a curated soundtrack for the movie titled ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ featuring more new songs performed by various artists, which will accompany the movie release. The soundtrack was digitally released on July 11, 2019, while both the soundtrack’s CD and Beyoncé’s album will be released on July 19, 2019. The soundtrack listing also includes the 2019 rendition of the song “Can You Feel the Love Night” featuring vocals by Queen Bey, Donald Glover, Billy Eichner, and Seth Rogen. This soundtrack also includes the contribution in the form of the latest track from Elton John titled “Never Too Late” and a stirring score written by Hans Zimmer who also composed for the year 1994 classic hit. Further, it also has a maniacal version of “Be Prepared” performed by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
In the film, Glover voices the title role of Simba, and Beyoncé gave her voice for the role of Nala. Eichner and Rogen, each, have played the characters of Timon and Pumbaa, respectively. Chiwetel Ejiofor also gave his voice for Scar in the upcoming movie. The hidden gem in this multi-starred soundtrack listing is in the form of the track titled “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, by Eichner and Rogen’s for their quirky duet. James Earl Jones will reprise his original role as Mufasa.
The Lion King is a 2019 American musical drama film directed and produced by Jon Favreau, with a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on July 19, 2019.
