In what could go down as a once-in-a-lifetime final show, Disney+ has officially announced a couple of huge names to support Elton John on his final North American performance – British heavyweights Dua Lipa and Kiki Dee, and musical stalwart Brandi Carlile – that will see the show got for just under (or maybe over) three hours!
To coincide with the announcement, Disney+ has also released the official trailer for the show, which includes the much-needed details: “Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium” will exclusively be live-streamed on Sunday, November 20, at 11 PM ET / 8 PM PT on Disney+.”
Dua Lipa
Elton John skyrocketed up the music charts when he recently teamed up with Dua Lipa on their smash hit Cold Heart (PNAU REMIX), which went all the way to #7 on Billboard’s Hot 100, #1 on its Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and also #1 on the UK singles chart upon its release. Not only that but the song has been streamed over 1 billion times on Spotify! So I guess you could say generations of old and new really liked the song.
Kiki Dee
Kiki Dee and Elton John are no strangers to each other, as the duo have previously made waves nearly 50 years ago – all the way back in 1975 to be exact – with the release of their number-one song Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, which actually was his third stand-alone single.
Brandi Carlile
It would be hard to find anyone on planet Earth that isn’t a fan of Elton John, and that is where Brandi Carlile comes in, as she has been a fan of the legend since she was 11 years old! Although, Brandi did have the opportunity to host his 30th annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party. However, you’d be remiss to overlook the great collaboration by the two back in 2021, which is also a part of Elton John’s album “The Lockdown Sessions”.
Elton John, Dua Lipa, Kiki Dee, and Brandi Carlile hardly need any further recognition, as each artists’ body of work speaks for itself. Tune in and enjoy the show on Sunday, November 20!
