On May 6, while in South Korea for her concert in Seoul, English singer Dua Lipa met up with two members from K-pop girl group BLACKPINK.
The meet up happened ahead of Dua Lipa’s performance at Yes 24 Live Hall, located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The concert marked the singer’s first solo show in the country following her performance at Pentaport Rock Festival last year. While backstage, she caught up with a few K-pop stars, including BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Lisa, as well as miss A’s Suzy.
The singer posted a picture of herself with the girls of BLACKPINK on Instagram with the caption “IN YOUR AREA,” referencing the group’s trademark phrase.

Formed by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK consists of four members – Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé. The group officially debuted in 2016 and has since met commercial success with singles such as “Whistle,” “Boombayah,” and “As If It’s Your Last.” Their achievements include winning New Artist of the Year at the 31st Golden Disc Awards and the 26th Seoul Music Awards. Most recently, the group released a reality show about their lives as K-pop idols titled “BLACKPINK HOUSE.”
Dua Lipa, who has achieved great success with her UK number one single “New Rules,” has made headlines for her female-dominated music videos and live performances. With BLACKPINK being one of K-pop’s most influential girl groups, it only makes sense for the singer to want to meet the group’s members.
As well as Jennie and Lisa, Dua Lipa also met K-pop singer and actress Bae Su-ji, better known as “Suzy,” from the girl group miss A. Suzy posted a few pictures of herself with the English singer on Instagram, as well as some pictures of herself cheering on Dua Lipa from the crowd.
After her stay in Seoul, Dua Lipa is scheduled to perform at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine for the Champions League Final.
