Duffy’s Album ‘Rockferry’ Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

Duffy’s debut album ‘Rockferry’ celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The album was released on March 3rd 2008 and took four years to make. Rockferry went to No.1 in the United Kingdom and other several music charts, the album also received reception worldwide, in other countries such as United States, Austria, Australia, Belgium amongst many others. Duffy, real name Amy Ann Duffy, worked with a few producers and writers on the album, including contributions from Bernard Butler, Steve Booker, Jimmy Hogarth and Eg White.

The album achieved a number of awards, including a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2008. Duffy, 34, also won three BRIT Awards, including Best British Album, whilst Bernard Butler was given the Producer’s Award. As of May 2016, the album has sold over 9 million copies.

‘Mercy’ became an international hit, noted as the third-best-selling single in the UK of 2008, ‘Warwick Avenue’ also did well, peaking at number 3 in the UK Single Charts. Even though some of Duffy’s tracks did not chart as well as others, they have never been forgotten and are often referred and spoken about on social media sites to this day.
