The loveable Ed Sheeran only went and bagged another award to add to his collection at this years Radio 1 Teen Awards. The 24 year old ‘Thinking out Loud’ singer, claimed Best British Solo Artist. Although he wasn’t there to accept the award, Ed sent a message from New York, where he is currently on tour. He was also nominated for Best British single. But missed out to One Direction, who won it thanks to their song ‘Drag me down.’ 1D also claimed Best British Group, despite huge competition from the likes of Little Mix and Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Other categories included Best Vlogger, which was won by Joe Sugg, and X Factor Won Best British TV Show. Best Film went to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.
The Teen Heroes Award went to teens Alice, Rosie and Aaron. The award honours either great courage or exceptional achievements.
The show took place in London, and was attended by 10000 teens. This years host was Radio 1 DJ and X Factor judge, Nick Grimshaw. Although he was helped out by Demi Lovato, The Vamps, Rita Ora and Troy Sivan.
Justin Bieber made a surprise performance and opened the show with a set that included his new hit ‘What do you mean?’ Little Mix, Demi Lovato, Five Seconds of Summer, All Time Low and Nick Jonas also performed making a memorable night for everyone.
