It was exactly a year ago that Ed Sheeran poured his heart out in an interview with Zane Lowe, talking about properly falling in love for the first time with his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, and now Ed and Cherry are engaged.
Ed announced the news on Instagram today with an adorable polaroid, writing:
“Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”
SO CUTE.
Whilst Ed often talks about his girlfriend, he and Cherry have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye. Although they have only been together for a few years, Ed and Cherry have known each other for much longer, both attending Thomas Mills High School in Suffolk.
Even though they don’t make many public appearances together, when we do see photos of Ed and Cherry it is so obvious how in love they are.

Cast your minds back to + and the lyrics to Wake Me Up: “See I could do without a tan on my left hand where my fourth finger meets my knuckle”. Yep, it’s finally coming true.
Brb just listening to + and crying over the old days and how far Ed has come.
What makes this even more romantic is that Ed purposely left an empty puzzle piece on his tattoo sleeve, saving the spot for his future wife. Looks like you need to book a tattoo appointment then, Ed.
But the real question is, will Ed play his own songs at his wedding?
