A host of celebrities flocked to the capital city last night to attend Global’s Make Some Noise Night – the Media and Entertainment group’s annual charity gala, supported by Barclaycard.
The star-studded event, held at The Londoner hotel in Leicester Square, raised a massive £1,282,976 for Global’s official charity, which funds small charities delivering vital support across the UK, driven by the vision that nobody should face life’s toughest challenges alone.
Hosted by some of Global’s most loved presenters, including Amanda Holden, Jordan North, Sian Welby, Chris Stark, Kate Garraway and James O’Brien, the 400 guests in attendance were treated to surprise musical performances by international megastars Ed Sheeran and Jessie J.
Speaking this morning, Stephen Miron, Group CEO of Global, said: “What an incredible night! I am so proud that in one evening, we raised more than £1.2 million for Global’s Make Some Noise. This means that in the past 10 years since we created the charity, we have raised almost £40 million in total, supported more than 480 projects and small charities, and as a result, we have helped change the lives of more than 200,000 people across the UK.”
“This is only possible thanks to the generosity of our big-name music artists, our friends from the world of music and entertainment, the Global family, including our fantastic presenters, and most importantly, our millions of loyal listeners. Because of their support, we can ensure that those facing life’s toughest challenges, such as mental health, poverty and homelessness, don’t have to face them alone. A very heartfelt thank you to every single person who has been a part of Global’s Make Some Noise.”
