Juri Jinnai, known as the frontwoman of Emergency Tiara, is a Japanese-born musician who has been deeply connected to music since a young age. From her early days in a choir and performing for renowned conductor Seiji Ozawa, Juri Jinnai’s passion for music led her to Berklee College of Music and eventually to New York City, where she kick-started her music career. Alongside producer and collaborator Dave Cole, Juri Jinnai formed Emergency Tiara, a project that has evolved into a seven-person band. Drawing inspiration from diverse influences such as Serge Gainsbourg, Prince, Ella Fitzgerald, and Judy and Mary, Emergency Tiara’s music blends left-field and classic pop elements, reflecting Juri Jinnai’s personal experiences and feminist expression. Their unique sound has captivated the fashion world and garnered acclaim from publications like CoS, Paper, and Clash. Beyond her music, Juri Jinnai also embraces her own journey, navigating treatment for a Lynch Syndrome diagnosis and her BRCA2 gene, using her experiences as a source of self-reflection and a platform to support others.
