Retro-pop artist Emery Pulse recently unveiled her brand-new single/music video, “Heart Fulfilled,” an ‘80s-laced, opulent song mirroring the universal questions ‘What could have been?’ and ‘What will be?’
Emery explains, “As a fan of ‘80s pop, I love bringing a retro flare to new music. ‘Heart Fulfilled’ incorporates a late ‘80s soft rock feel into the present. Staying on brand, the lyrics reminiscence on what used to be and wonder about the now. Could you still be the man you were once more?
Produced by Emery Pulse and Brett Brown, “Heart Fulfilled” was mastered by James Auwarter for Coda Room Audio London/Chicago.
Appearing on “Heart Fulfilled” along with Emery (vocals, keyboards) is Chris Camozzi (guitars), Lee Brovitz (bass), and Brett Brown (drums, percussion). What makes Emery’s sound work is her authenticity and dedication to her aesthetic. It’s delivered with masterful retro-pop artistry, performance, and production.
After relocating to Florida from Chicago, Emery performed in local theater productions, sang the national anthem at Hertz Arena for the Florida Everblades, and can be heard on Marco Island’s 98.1 FM from 12 to 2 p.m. daily. Emery is also the lead singer of a classic dance band, Rewind Band SWFL.
Opening on swirling tones, followed by silky-smooth, shimmering colors, “Heart Fulfilled” flows into a dream-pop-laced rhythm, featuring a finessed bassline and tight, crunching percussion. Emery’s velvety, crème de la crème voice, at once wistful and fragrant with sumptuous surfaces, imbues the lyrics with creamy, wonder-filled timbres.
Soft, radiant harmonies give the tune glowing depth and sighing dimension, blushing with cashmere charm.
“Your scent caught the air / Transported back to a kiss by the stairs … Is your heart fulfilled / You must be married by now,”
Drenched in glossy textures atop a mid-tempo rhythm, “Heart Fulfilled” offers gleaming, lustrous leitmotifs and the plush voice of Emery Pulse.
