Talented singer-songwriter Emily Middlemas has announced her second single, titled ‘Layla,’ which will be released on 16 March.
Announcing the news on her social media channels, Emily said the following:
The single will be in poignant memory of young Layla, who was diagnosed with the disease neuroblastoma and unfortunately passed away at the beginning of the year. All proceeds from the single will go towards raising awareness for neuroblastoma and will also be given to charity Neuroblastoma UK, which helps fight against childhood cancer.
Emily also shared a moving Instagram post following Layla’s passing, describing her as a ‘strong little fighter,’ also saying that young Layla ‘will always have a special place in everybody’s hearts.’
Emily Middlemas is best known for appearing on the 2016 series of ‘The X Factor,’ whereby she was mentored by Simon Cowell and finished in fourth place. Some of her impressive performances include ‘Toxic’ and ‘Creep.’
Following her time on the show, Emily appeared as part of ‘The X Factor Live Tour,’ performing at arenas around the UK and Ireland.
In September 2017, her debut single ‘Lost & Found’ was released, along with her first headline tour at intimate venues around the UK and Ireland, which allowed her to perform original tracks, along with some tracks from her time on ‘The X Factor.’
