Austin “Tin Tenn” Henry is an artist from Memphis who was recently named as the winner for The Extreme Tour. The rising star also just advanced to the semi-finals of the 2017 Unsigned Only Music Competition. And since the release of his debut single ‘Lucid Dreams’ back in April of this year Tin Tenn has amassed over 65,000 plays online.
At just 23, Tin Tenn has already had an incredible life story. Having started writing since he could hold a pen, in the 4th grade Austin wrote a poem which won the Memphis City Competition, but was unfortunately denied at state level because the organisers thought someone older had written the piece. However, by the age of 13 the Memphis drug scene had consumed Austin, and by age 16 he was locked in an adolescent institution in upstate New York. Speaking about his past issues, the future star opens up, saying: “They would rip up my binder full of rhymes, and it drove me… to do it more” This is when he made the decision: music was the only way out of the trouble he was in.
Thankfully he has now turned his life around and is releasing his debut EP titled ‘Midnight Madness’. Talking exclusively to Celeb Mix about his new record, Tin Tenn says: ” ‘Midnight Madness’ is about the journey I went through as an addict, and the madness it took to reach where I’m now. It’s called Midnight Madness because I came alive at night time, and also ‘nothing good happens after midnight’.”
