We have a new single from Eleni Foureira, and it is fire, fuego, fire! Titled “Caramela”, the song is the follow-up to her Eurovision hit “Fuego“, which came second at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with 436 points, making it Cyprus’ highest position since they debuted in 1981. “Caramela” is noted as the second single from her forthcoming album.
Eleni Foureira has been in the music industry for years, her debut single was “Chica Bomb” in 2010. She grew up in Greece although she was born in Albania. She started in the music industry as one-third of girl group Mystique in 2007, but they broke up two years later and Eleni Foureira went down the solo route. She has released a number of singles, with many becoming top ten hits in Greece including a collaboration with J Balvin on his single “Tranquila”; released four studio albums to-date with her third album, Anemos agapis, peaking at number three in Greece; and she has won multiple awards. She also won the first season of Just The Two Of Us (Greece), and she was also a judge on season three of the Greece TV show So You Think You Can Dance.
Her road to Eurovision has not been easy, she’s attempted to represent Greece a number of times, but it’s not worked out; but her time certainly came this year, but it wasn’t with Greece – who turned her down again – this time it was with Cyprus and it turned out great for everyone involved. Eleni Foureira has finally gone international, with her “Fuego” raking in chart numbers, and Cyprus gained their best result to-date. This female artist is more than deserving of worldwide success – did you not see how she performed on that Eurovision stage? And gosh, can she sing! This follow-up single is one that will get inside your head and excites us all for her new album.
The brand new track was written by Avi Ochayon, Doron Medalie, Eleni Foureira, Moshe Peretz, and Sofia Papavasileiou. The song is originally Moshe’s song and was released Israel. The original music video has amassed over 25 million views and now it’s time for Eleni Foureira to push the song globally.
Listen To Eleni Foureira’s New Single “Caramela” Here:
The song reminds us of a football song, with a twist of Eurovision 2010’s Jessy Matador’s “Allez Ola Olé”. It’s catchy from start to finish, giving us fierce vocals throughout. The backing track is beaty with incredible arrangements and undeniable sing-along worthy chants all wrapped up in Latin style.
As for the lyrics, the start is filled with love as Eleni Foureira proves her vocal ability on the ballad start before the Latin flare comes rolling through. It’s filled with the summer sound, whilst showing off her versatility as an artist because no one wants a second “Fuego“.
“Caramela” is available to download and stream now, both the new English version and the previous Greek version which was released a few weeks ago, via Panik Records. A new album should be on its way soon – and we cannot wait.
