Contenders, ready? Gladiators, ready? Audiences, GET READY because the iconic ‘90s TV game show Gladiators is officially BACK!
That’s right, after months and months of teasing, one of the most exciting and energetic sports entertainment gameshows ever makes it long awaited return to our screens this weekend, in its brand new home on the BBC.
The new season will see 16 phenomenal Gladiators compete in a series of brand new challenges, alongside classic games against a brave set of contenders in the ultimate test of strength and speed!

Father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh take the reins this season, and follow in the footsteps of previous hosts Ulrika Jonsson, John Fashanu, Jeremy Guscott, Ian Wright, Kirsty Gallacher, and Caroline Flack.

Who is the BBC Gladiators commentator?
Commentator Guy Mowbray, aka one of the most recognisable voices in top flight football, will provide the voiceover commentary on all the action for the show as the “brave contenders take on the mighty challenges and the even mightier Gladiators”.
Who are the Gladiators Referees?
Ex Premier League Football referee Mark Clattenburg joins the show along side Sonia Mkoloma and Lee Phillips.

When did Gladiators first air in the UK?
Gladiators first made its debut on ITV back in 1992. The original series of the competition ran for an impressive eight seasons before being taken off air in 2000. In 2008 the show was revived by Sky and ran for two seasons.
