Ivy Rei is an exciting rising Norwegian singer who has recently released her debut single titled ‘Say It To My Face’. The track was added to Spotify’s Made in Norway, New Music Friday Norway, and #7 Norway Viral Top 50 playlists.

Here we speak exclusively to Ivy Rei to bring you an insight into exactly who she is as an artist and person:

Growing up who inspired your love of music?
I have wanted to become an artist ever since I, as a young child, saw my dad, as well as my uncle and grandfather, entertaining the whole extended family with their guitar and voice. I knew ever since then that music is what I both wanted to do and needed to do. My family’s passion has always been music, but no one from my family has ever taken their love for music to the next level and made a career out of it, so I definitely feel like I’m the one to bringing all our visions to life.

What’s the most important part of music to you?
How music can relate so deeply to people’s emotions and also make people have the time of their lives dancing and singing along.

How would you describe your own sound to new listeners?
My music is a reflection of me as a person and as an artist. It’s fun but also focuses on real issues and struggles and music was my way through it.

When did you decide to pursue music as a career?

I guess there was a part of me already as a young kid that felt so strongly about putting the music I had in me out to the world, and entertaining people with music the same way my dad, uncle & grandpa always did.

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I love rain. Like I would rather it rain than be sunny. For some weird reason it makes me feel so cozy and happy. Who doesn’t love a good reason to put on your coziest sweaters and hoodies?
