Last year, we introduced you to rising pop sensation Ashley Brinton after she released her second single, ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love’.
Since then, the songstress has gone from strength to strength, releasing her third single ‘Slow Down’ as well as a cover of ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree’. Through her music, Ashley has managed to hone in a sound and style which truly reflects who she is as an artist.
Today, Ashley releases her latest single, ‘Trouble’. Further highlighting her direction as an artist, the track is truly infectious and a definite new addition to your music playlist.
We had the opportunity to quiz Ashley about all things ‘Trouble’, in addition to her plans for the rest of the year.
Hey Ashley! Last time we spoke to you, you’d just released ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love’. How have you been since then?
I am great! I have been super busy, focused on making new music. I’ve also been creating and shooting a music video for my new single “Trouble,” which is out now!
You just released a new single called ‘Trouble.’ We had a sneaky listen before the release and we love it! Can you tell us a little about the inspiration behind the song?
The song is about having a crush on someone that is wrong for you. You know it and feel it – but your emotions take over and you just can’t control it. You know you’re in trouble.
How long did it take to put the track together?
We already had the inspiration for the track, so when we were in the studio we just felt it and went for it. It all came together pretty quickly!
What’s your favourite lyric from the song and why?
“Is it wrong for me to still want you because I do I do I do” – It’s a question I have asked myself so many times when I knew I was in a bad relationship.
You’ve also dropped the music video for ‘Trouble’ – it looks amazing!
It definitely has some interesting twists to keep you on your toes while watching it. It’s what everyone in a bad relationship wants to do but can’t.

You’ve been working with Grammy Award winning producer Cory Rooney on your music again. Together you’ve created some incredible tracks – why do you think you both gel so well?
I love working with Cory! We understand each other creatively and it’s just magic in the studio.
You currently reside in LA – how has the city influenced your music and you as a person?
LA is filled with inspiration at every corner. It has its own vibe and flavor, I can’t get enough of it. It’s truly intoxicating.

What would be your ultimate achievement as an artist?
Playing the Staples Center and feeling the energy of the massive crowd. That’s my dream!
What else do you have in store for 2018?
This year I’m planning to go on tour, release more singles and create more music videos. I’m planning on going old school and releasing some vinyl records too. 2018 will be full of: music, music, music!
