Earlier this year, Philadelphia based recording artist and singer-songwriter Camille Peruto released her latest LP, From The Sea To The Sky. The folk-pop-rock offering captured our attention from the off, but one song in particular stood out from the rest.
‘Silent Melody’ immediately pulls you in with its captivating beat. The intense track is a powerful pop-rock ballad which strays away from Camille’s usual folk stylings, but proves that she is more than capable of delivering a punchy offering. It’s evident that Camille has poured her heart out for this song, and her heavenly voice encourages you to take in every lyric.
Speaking about the song, Camille said: “This song was written many years ago. Since I wrote it, I have tweaked the words pretty often. I wasn’t sure if I even wanted it on the album due to fear that it would feel dated. That was until I brought it into the studio. The musicians I worked with were incredible and did something so special with this song, and it feels extremely current. It is probably my favorite song on the album.”
To celebrate the track in all its glory, Camille has accompanied it with a music video. The visual focuses on the singer, who initially receives a series of demanding messages from someone called Charlie. We then see her getting ready to go out before roaming the streets freely. Filmed in darker surroundings, the visual certainly highlights the intensity of the song.
In a recent interview with Vents, she filled readers in on the video’s concept. “It was shot in a lot of natural places that bring me back to when I first met the person who the song was about. It’s a bit darker than my usual taste but it’s edgy and really cool!”

‘Silent Melody’ is taken from Camille’s latest record From The Sea To The Sky, the follow up to her debut 2013 album Sparrow. Since releasing her debut LP, Camille has performed at famous venues around the East Coast, LA, and Nashville, and has also been able to headline many shows in Philadelphia. Additionally she has shared the stage with a number of exciting artists, including Tim Reynolds of the Dave Matthews Band.
In 2015, Camille competed on Season 14 of American Idol. Whilst her time on the show was short-lived, the experience was worthwhile and gave her a new perspective when it came to recording From The Sea To The Sky. The album, which was supported by a Kickstarter campaign, allowed Camille to push her songwriting ability, exploring different poppy hooks along the way.
Camille Peruto is a talented artist on the rise, and with anthemic offerings such as ‘Silent Melody’ under her belt, we’re pretty sure that she is destined for complete greatness.
