DUSK have unveiled their brand-new track, ‘New Habit’, with Call Me Loop.
Their latest offering serves as the official follow up to their massive track, ‘With You’, alongside girl band, M.O.
DUSK – who are a writing and production duo – have returned with a single that reflects a peaceful persona, encapsulates a club-friendly style of pop, mixed with groovy beats and a harmonious rhythm.
The childhood friends – also known as Ash and Dan – have built a spectacular reputation for themselves after working with the likes of Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Eyre, Shakka, Peking Duk and many more artists.
The south London pair are renowned for being the masterminds behind numerous singles, from the likes of James Hype, Tom Grennan, Blonde and Madison Beer.
Now bagging another collaboration, the twosome is once again, set to champion the charts with their refreshing take on the bouncy sounds.
With the help of female rising artist, Call Me Loop, the tune is set to shake up the pop landscape.
She has amassed over 25 million streams on Spotify through her singles, ‘Give n Take’ and ‘Love the Lie’.
Loop’s infectious vocals help channel the lyrics’ message of infatuation and the vibrant tune is embellished with its lively synths and powerful productions.
CelebMix got chatting to the duo about their upcoming hit, what inspires them, and future collaborations.
For those unfortunate ones who don’t know you guys yet, how would you describe yourselves and the music you make?
We’re just a couple of good friends who love making music. We’ve both been playing for as long as we can remember, always trying to come up with new sounds, but we had a moment a couple of years back when we were in the Caribbean and decided to start DUSK. So our music sounds like us having fun, on a beach, drinking rum.
New Habit is set to be a hot summer anthem. What is your favourite thing about the track?
We’re really happy with how feel good it is. It’s chilled but big, emotional and positive, and just makes us feel good. Loop sounds so great on it too.
What was it like to collaborate with Call Me Loop?
Loop’s a real talent that we’ve wanted to collaborate with for a while. She’s obviously got a great voice but she’s also a lot of fun and really easy to work with. We feel like we’re a great match all round to be honest.
You guys co-wrote Peking Duk’s ‘Stranger’ which was awarded a Four-Time Platinum Certificate! You also collaborated with M.O on the huge hit, ‘With You’. Tell us why ‘New Habit’ will be just as successful.
We reckon it could be a great jam for the summer. Hopefully people feel it as much as they did Stranger!
You have collaborated with huge names in the music industry, who can we expect in the future?
We’ve been working a lot with Ella Eyre recently. In fact, we just got back from Jamaica where we spent a week writing with her. We’ve also been in the studio with some of our favourite artists like Tom Grennan, Dyo and Kah-Lo recently, and we’ll be connecting with some awesome people like Zak Abel and SHY Martin soon, and of course more with Call Me Loop!
Who do you guys go to for inspiration?
Our tastes are pretty eclectic, so right now we’re really into artists like Mr Eazi, NSG, Billie Eilish, Diplo, Lauv… we love Koffee and Chronixx too, they’re both amazing.
What is your favourite thing about making music?
There’s nothing like writing music with people you really vibe with, that chemistry you get can feel really special. And that feeling when you first listen back to a finished song never gets old!
