Bristol’s Hicktown Breakout are an exciting 5-piece Southern-Country/Rock-Blues outfit that effortlessly infuse genres and next Friday (November 15th) they release their self-titled debut EP, which will feature the hit single ‘Jo Lee’.

Here we chat exclusively to Hicktown Breakout to discuss the record ahead of its release:

Do you have a link to listen to the EP?

Your debut EP releases on November 15th, how excited are you for this project to be out in the world?

Very excited to get this e.p. released, It is a taste what Hicktown Breakout can offer the U.K country scene and all the hard work we have put in.

What was the writing process like for the record?

We all have experience in writing and we love to turn up at practice with a melody and see what happens!

Do you have a particular favourite song off the EP?

I would have said Jo-Lee but I think Roses shows how our writing as a group has progressed and shows the direction I think we are going.

What are you hoping listeners take from the tracks?

I hope people can take away a sense of what we are about: Songs that are fun, have a great melody, Harmonies, and lyrics you can relate too.

You’re influenced by Country, rock and blues, so where do you see yourselves fitting into the current UK market?

I believe the U.K country scene has never been better or more diverse, more and more people are falling in love with country music and I think that we offer a sound that people are going to like!

What are you hoping to achieve with this EP?

We want this e.p. to show listeners who we are as a band and get them excited for an album and most importantly to come and see us live!

Can we expect any music videos to be shared for any of the songs on the project?

We are in post-production on the Jo-Lee music video and look forward to sharing it with you all soon.

Are you looking to collaborate with any British Country acts?

Haven’t thought much about collaborating with other artists but always open to opportunities to make great music!

Do you have any touring plans lined up?

We are working on a plan to tour in 2020.

What does the rest of 2019 look like for you?

The rest of this year is all about new material, promo for the new e.p. and playing as much as possible.
